New to the hobby are midwave UV flashlights that use mid-wave UV LEDs at 310nm.  The flashlights focused beam and are great in finding fluorescent minerals at greater distances. 
Within the midwave range some minerals may respond brighter and even a different color response.  Some examples are calcites from New Mexico glow brighter under midwave UV,  and Nuveo Leon Calcite from Mexico respond in yellow versus a pink under longwave and blue under shortwave.  The FS Hunter flashlight PROs design are simply a notch above any other comparable UV flashlight on the market today.  We have evaluated these flashlights are simply the next level for the fluorescent mineral hobbiest wanting to share and find their fluorescent mineral rocks.  The FS Hunter Pro comes with two larger  26650A 50000mAh batteries to help ensure a full night of collecting.  Batteries will run from 6 to 7 hours of use while out collecting.  Most other flashlights use a 18650 battery providing only 2 to 3 hours of use.

We recommend you start with a shortwave UV lamp before adding a midwave lamp because over 90 percent of fluorescent minerals need shortwave UV to respond.
