Fluorescence in certain minerals produce a unique and wonderful display of colors from
the rock that may look as plain in daylight but wonderfull
colors under ultraviolet radiation. About 85% of all fluorescent minerals respond to shortwave ultraviolet light and
only about 15% to longwave "blacklight" UV light. Some minerals will respond to both or even midwave UV and display different colors under each wavelength. Collecting fluorescent minerals
can be a very rewarding hobby for oneself or their
family and friends. Most of our minerals are collected and
brought direct from the mine from Mexico. But
occasionally we do source and sell minerals from other
localities from around the globe. If you are
interested in selling at your museum, store, or gift shop
please contact tony@uvtools.com
Proof of business is required. Physical samples of the
minerals we can provide in bulk and affordable 4 watt
shortwave lamps can be provided. Fluorescent
minerals sell themselves once you introduce them to your
business. The minerals we wholesale come from Mexico,
Arizona, as well as New Jersey which is the capital of
fluorescent minerals.
